Summary:
The chapter begins with Roy Mustang and his team arriving at the ruins of Xerxes, where they encounter the Pride homunculus disguised as Selim Bradley. Pride tells them he’s been looking for them and offers to guide them through the ruins. As they go, Pride reveals that he is the son of a homunculus father and that he has the ability to control shadows.Meanwhile, Edward Elric and his group are at the chimera house taking a break. They discuss their next steps and Edward tells them of his plan to use Scar’s alchemy to destroy his father’s nationwide transmutation ring. Suddenly they hear a knock on the door and are surprised to see Winry Rockbell standing outside.Winry tells them she came to help them and Edward is happy to see her. They discuss the situation and Winry offers to fix their automail and help them however she can. They then headed towards Central, with Winry riding on the back of the motorcycle driven by Lan Fan.Back at the ruins of the Xerxes, Mustang and his team are attacked by Pride, who uses his shadows to create illusions about their loved ones. However, Mustang is able to see through the illusions and uses his flames to defeat Pride.The chapter ends with Edward and his group arriving in the suburbs of Central where they are met by Scar and his group of Ishvalan warriors. Scar tells them that they are ready to fight their father and his army and that they will do whatever it takes to protect their country.
