Summary:
“Bug Bite,” the story follows Ed and Al as they continue their search for the Philosopher’s Stone. The chapter opens with a flashback of Ed and Al when they were young and studying alchemy under their master Izumi.In the present day, the brothers arrive in town where they hear rumors of a doctor who can perform miracles. When they meet the doctor, they discover that he uses the Philosopher’s Stone to heal his patients. However, the Doctor insists that he is using the stone for the greater good and not for personal gain.Ed and Al are suspicious of the doctor’s methods and decide to investigate further. They sneak into the Doctor’s lab and find the Philosopher’s Stone hidden in a secret room. He also comes across a young girl who has been experimented on and left in a comatose state.As Ed and Al try to figure out a way to help the girl, they are confronted by the Doctor and his henchmen. A fight ensues and Ed is bitten by a bug that injects a paralyzing toxin into his body. Al is forced to fight the Doctor and his men alone and manages to defeat them.Eventually, the brothers manage to save the girl and destroy the Philosopher’s Stone, but Ed is left paralyzed and unable to move. The chapter ends with Al taking his brother out of the lab and looking for a way to cure him.
