Summary:
While Major General Hakuro is enjoying a peaceful train ride from New Optain to East City with his wife and two young children, the train is hijacked by several members of the Eastern extremist group “Blue Squad”, currently led by a menacing man named Bald. In East City, the Colonel – acting commander of the city’s military forces – receives a manifesto of Bald’s demands, but soon learns a favorable fact – that Fullmetal Alchemist Edward Elric is listed among the passengers on the hijacked train.Aboard the locomotive, Edward awakens from his slumber and, irritated by their rudeness, quickly subdues two armed kidnappers stationed in his car, much to the chagrin of the more patient Alphonse and their wary fellow passengers. The Elrics assess the situation and plan to take out the other terrorists, with Edward heading to the engine room via the roof of the train while Alphonse follows through the cars themselves – taking out the hijackers as they go.Bald receives word from some of his men that the footmen in the rear cars have stopped responding and wonders how this is possible when his men have killed all the train guards and captured the engineers. Hakuro takes note of this new development and advises the members of Blue Squad to surrender peacefully as their plan has already begun to fall apart, but Bald silences the general’s warning with a shot to his left ear—with an automatic arm modeled after a double-barreled assault rifle. Edward begins his attack by first freeing the engineers who take control of the train and inform him that the car outside Hakuro’s suite is filled with boiler water. Knowing this, Edward delivers an ultimatum to the hijackers, but when they refuse to surrender, he uses water from the tender car to flood the first class car, defeating all the terrorists inside except Bald himself. Ed and Al get into the premium car at the same time, defeating Bald and disabling his automail.The train arrives safely in East City and Bald is immediately taken into custody when the Colonel and his aide Lt. Hawkeye greets the Elrics at the station, much to Edward’s annoyance. As the Colonel and Edward exchange insults, Bald escapes custody using a knife hidden in his vandalized mail and charges. Revealing that his right glove is adorned with a unique transmutation ring, the Colonel snaps his fingers and subdues tn: left;”> terrorist with a fiery blast. As the military police detain Baldo again, the colonel introduces himself as Roy Mustang, a flame alchemist.
