Summary:
Izumi notices Mason that Alphonse hasn’t returned yet and it’s late. They discuss that he was kidnapped and everyone, including Sig, laughs it off.Cut to Al being chained up in some secret location with Martel still inside and Dorchet sitting nearby. During their conversation, it is revealed that Dorchet and Martel, as well as others, are chimeras made from badly wounded military personnel. The ‘Master’, whose name is Greed, finally arrives to question Al. He brought some other chimeras with him to help interrogate Al. Al attempts to escape by performing alchemy and taking over Greed. However, Greed turns out to be relatively indestructible, proving that Loa tries to kill himself by using his gigantic hammer to remove Greed’s head. Within a few moments, Greed’s erased head begins to reform, until eventually nothing can be seen to have been done to it. At this point, Greed reveals that he is a homunculus. He then explains to Al why he wants his body when he has this; he is not truly immortal like Al, and his regenerative powers have their limits. Through various methods of intimidation, Greed tries to obtain the secret of how Al’s soul was placed in the armor. Finally, Al says that his brother Edward did it, but that he’s no longer around to tell them how. They assume Al means he’s dead.Meanwhile, at South Headquarters, Edward checks in for an assessment. Because it is delayed, it will take longer than usual to process. While searching for the Office of Technical Evaluation, he runs into his old friend, Major Alex Louis Armstrong. The Major is revealed to be accompanying President Führer Bradley while he inspects the Southern Command. When she finds out that Ed is there for the evaluation, but that it will be a while before the testing takes place, she signs Ed’s papers. When Ed asked about his business in the South, he said he was just there to visit his old teacher. President Bradley considers recruiting Izumi, but Ed points out that it would be a daunting task.Back at Dublith Izumi, Sig and Mason look for clues as to where Al might be. They trace a solid lead to the Devil’s Nest bar. Izumi heads there to continue her search for Al. After meeting resistance at the front door, Izumi takes out the initial group of guards. When that’s not enough and the next wave still refuses to give her information, both she and Sig want to remove any remaining obstacles.They continue to try to get information from Al regarding his transformation. When hypnosis doesn’t work, they start thinking about an autopsy. Al doesn’t look scared enough when they make the proposal, revealing that there’s only one thing he’s afraid of, Izumi. As he speaks, Izumi can be heard approaching in the background before slamming the door to the room where he is being held and proceeding to take out all the guards in the room.
